We are so grateful to everyone who contributes to the Blessings Box. We are amazed at the donations we received heading into Christmas – and the timing was truly Divine.
We are aware that the government shutdown is impacting many families in our area, and we are seeing an increase in use of the box. Please share with those you know who may need some extra help during this time that we have non-perishable food items, diapers, baby wipes, and other household items. We also have older adult incontinence items that we don’t keep in the box for space reasons, but are available to those who need it. Please contact the office to pick them up (703-594-2695).
If you’d like to make contributions to the box, we are especially in need of laundry detergent, dishwashing soap, and toothpaste/toothbrushes. And we always need diapers and wipes. You can make donations anytime the office is open (Mon-Fri, 9-1) or just leave them directly in the box.
Finally, the storeroom for the Blessings Box received new windows, and the room needs to be put back together. Diapers, toiletries and more need to be repackaged. If you’d like to help with this project, or know a teenager who needs school service hours, please RSVP and plan to join us Saturday, January 12 at 9:00 AM. Many hands make light work.
