UPDATE –  Carillon Bells at Nokesville Church of the Brethren

Even though we haven’t met in the church building for the last several months, many of you in the Nokesville community as well as in the church have probably noticed that the Carillon Bell System in the church has not been working for quite a while.

Thanks to a small task team, led by Larry Nelson, and including Jeannette and Vernon Funkhouser and Mark Bishop, a quote has been obtained to replace the needed system parts so that once again music will be shared throughout the community.

The church has had major fund raising going on for the last several years for large and small projects that will allow the activities of Nokesville Church of the Brethren to continue to be a vital ministry and blessing to the Nokesville Community.  These efforts have included new air conditioning and heating units, a new roof, new windows and a new paved parking lot to name a few.

The replacement of the Carillon Bell System was not part of those plans.  We do have some funds that can be used to pay for the needed replacement system but not enough to cover the cost, which is $8,250.00.

We have been blessed as a church by so many contributions for our fundraising efforts.  We would like to reach out again to each of you to prayerfully consider if you feel led to give to this project.  If you do, please note “Carillon Bells” on the memo portion of your check and you can mail the check to the church at P.O. Box 56, Nokesville, VA 20182.  Or if you prefer, you can designate the Carillon Bells via the on-line giving website – Continue to Give.

We are excited at the opportunity to have the iconic sounds of the Carillon Bells once again ringing throughout our community.
