We’re at it again – this time, we’re adding an extra hour!
Enjoy a night out! Bring your children to the church Saturday night, September 22, from 5:00 – 9:00 pm for an evening of fun while you have some “grown up time”. The event is open to children ages 3 – 11, and they don’t have to be members of the congregation to participate.
We are accepting donations in lieu of a set fee to be used towards our major maintenance fundraising campaign. Please register your children by filling out the form below.
The Variety Show and Silent Auction event is this Saturday, August 4, at 6:30 PM. We wanted to give you just a taste of the items up for bid. There are many other wonderful items that are not pictured, including chimes, a gift card tree, fabulous baskets and so much more. Take a look and plan to join us for an evening of entertainment, homemade pies and shopping – all for a good cause (the major maintenance of the church facility). Please invite your friends!

All are invited to attend the Variety Show and Silent Auction on Saturday, August 4 beginning at 6:30pm. Enjoy a great evening out with your neighbors!
The evening begins with music from local musician Mike Simms. During his half hour set, Donna Flory will be entertaining our youngest in the audience with balloon animals! Plus, bid on some fabulous silent auction items, including artwork, entertainment tickets, home decor and services and much, much more!
Then, enjoy homemade pies, desserts and ice cream while being entertained by some homegrown talent! Acts include incredible piano duets (featuring Oakton CoB music minister John Shafer and Nokesville UMC music minister Lucas Finet), vocalists, “comedy”sketches and much more!
There is no set admission price. Donations are welcomed and will benefit the Major Maintenance fund of the church. We look forward to seeing you there!
Take me out to the ball game!
Several of us are planning to attend the MAD COB night at the Frederick Keys baseball game on Saturday, August 11 at 6 pm. Tickets include reserved seats with others from around the district behind home plate, a 2-hour buffet (from 5-7 pm) and FIREWORKS!
Use the link to the form to order your tickets today, and talk to Eric Finet or Pastor Angela about ride-sharing. This promises to be a fun evening and a great opportunity to get to know others in the wider district.

On the third Wednesday of each month, from 11:30 – 1:00, we host the Senior Social Event where folks (aged 65+) from all over the community gather together to eat, laugh, catch up and enjoy an activity. In June, our activity was BINGO!
Each month, I prepare a very brief devotion to begin our time together. When possible, I like to think of a Scripture that fits for our theme – not an easy task for BINGO!
However, after much thought, I discovered that BINGO is kind of a neat illustration of God’s grace – if you have a little bit of an imagination!
Ephesians 2:8 says: “God saved you by his grace, through faith. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God.”
BINGO is kind of that way. You can’t “earn” a win in BINGO. You can’t work harder at BINGO than your neighbor. But you do have to play – and you do have to pay attention.
Of course, with BINGO, there’s only one winner each game – so the illustration breaks down there. Because we know God’s grace is available to all. And for this, we are grateful.
