Get Involved!

Service has long been an important part of our life together.  Our ministries thrive on the diverse experiences of our members and their contributions of time and talent. We want to empower you to serve in the ways you feel called.

There are some great ways to get involved, and we welcome you to use the following opportunities to join us.  In addition to the ministries highlighted, we also seek volunteers to serve on the following ministry teams:

Children’s Service Project – Comfort Cases

Service and COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT

This team is responsible for outreach to the community and our participation in Community events.  We address publicity, evangelism and ecumenical relations and serve as the liaison to Rainbow Preschool.

Worship

This team coordinates, with the Pastor, each Sunday’s worship service as well as special events like our ecumenical Thanksgiving and Good Friday services, Community hymn sings, Gospel Sunday/Church picnic and more.

Facility and Property

This team oversees the church building, parsonage and grounds.  It is responsible for maintaining and furnishing the building, inside and out, and overseeing the cleaning of the church facility.

Throughout our history, the Church of the Brethren founded the national organizations  Brethren Volunteer Service,  Heifer Project, SERRV International, and Church World Service. Locally, several of our members work with SERVE (with Northern Virginia Family Services).

Join us as we become the hands and feet of Jesus in our congregation and community.

. . . Where two or three are gathered in my name, I am there among them.
