Crop Walk to End Hunger

We will once again be partnering with Manassas Church of the Brethren in the CROP Walk. This is a great even for the entire family. We will gather at Nokesville Park on Sunday, October 13 at 2 p.m. to walk.

This is the 50th Anniversary of the Crop Hunger Walk.  In 1969, teens in Bismarck, North Dakota and York County, Pennsylvania decided it was time to do something for families who had to walk miles for food and clean water. So they walked…and, because they took that first step, hunger has forever been changed.

In celebration, we will be spending time in worship on Sunday, October 13, examining what Jesus has to say about caring for the hungry.  And then, we will give “feet” to our worship!

Invite friends and family to support your walk with their donations. You can bring checks or cash with you, or friends can donate online.

Picnic in the Park

Bring a picnic to share, a lawn chair and join us Sunday August 25, following worship, at the Nokesville Park.  Enjoy an afternoon of good food, friends, games and fellowship.  No food will be provided. Tea, lemonade, water and paper products will be provided.  There is a pavilion with picnic tables and benches.  There is a horse shoe pit, volley ball net and children’s play area.  Bathroom facilities are available.  Bring your horseshoes and volley ball.  Corn hole game will also be available.  If you have any questions talk with Polly, Lois, Krista, Beth or Gayle.  Hope to see you there.

Church Camp Weekend

We are planning the “All Church Camp Weekend” for September 27th-29th.  Stay all weekend, or come for a day.  Brethren Woods, in Keezletown, VA offers a beautiful, serene campground that is perfect for fellowship.

There is information on the table at the back of the Sanctuary including cost and activities, and we are taking reservations now!  This is a great trip for families.  We will have cabin, tent, and the A-frame lodging options available.  Please see Jackie Bear or Melanie Ali for additional information.
